born in monroe, louisiana, in the mississippi delta, doug duffey has been singing, playing piano, and composing professionally since the age of 14. he is the musical personification of louisiana rock & roll, new orleans rhythm & blues, and 'old school' delta blues. his career spans 40+ years and has carried him from his native louisiana to international success. he has written, recorded, produced 7 critically acclaimed cds of original material to date. doug duffey has
been composing since his early teens. his songs reflect his
louisiana-mississippi delta origins mixed with many influences. with musical roots in southern blues, rhythm & blues
and soul music, these influences can be heard in his songs, but his is an
original hybrid mix and trans-genre style. bridging the urban with the
rural, the modern with the traditional, the present with the past, each song
tells a story, with lyrics written from 'real life' experiences and
observations.
The one underlying element in all his work is
SOUL… not the genre, but the emotion.
